Priming of Walls | Flooring and Interior Doors Install | Countertop Selections - 8/24/2014

There have been lots of little things going on around the job site the past two weeks.  Finally got over to the house with sufficient day light to update pictures.

The first couple of pictures show the wood paneled walls as installed in the entry way and on some of the main living area walls.  They will be painted white in time.

The following picture shows the grey carrara marble tile that was laid in the guest bathroom.

We had to get creative with the shower in the guest bathroom.  We used white subway tile and three different sizes/shapes of grey carrara marble on the walls and shower floor.  It looks better in person.  Terrible lighting in these pictures.

View from main living area, looking down into front entry way.  The wall at the top of the picture will be white wood panels.

Looking across living room, into the kitchen.  Cabinets are set to be delivered second week of September.

Standing in kitchen, looking across living room.  Far wall will be white wood panels.

Pipe in center of floor is where the island will be constructed.  The grey opening is where the fridge will be placed.  Door to left leads into pantry, bar and laundry room.

WOOD FLOORS!!  This is the laundry room.  Raw white oak hardwood flooring.

Standing in laundry room, looking past the bar on right (pantry on left), and out into the kitchen.

All the hardwood stacked and ready to lay down.

View into master bedroom - hardwood floors are down and interior door hung.  Door isn't painted yet, just primed.

Master bedroom.

Master closet.

Craft room to left, storage closet to right.

First spare room.

View from stairwell, looking into play room and toy closet on left.

2nd spare room.

Back porch.

On Monday, August 25th we went to Emerald Coast Fabricators to select our countertops.  The first slab (first 2 pictures below) is a gold Calacatta marble that will be the master bath countertop.

The silver Carrara marble slab will go in the two upstairs spare bedrooms.  Bathroom countertops.

This slab will be the countertop in the downstairs guest bathroom ("powder bath"), it is called "Capri".  The white marble tile in the foreground is going to be used as an accent wall above the Capri countertop.  It's gonna be awesome.

The Super White Quartzite slab below will be used on the waterfall island in the kitchen and on the bar.  Love it.

The striated Olympus marble below will be used for the counters on either side of the living room fireplace, in the built-in bookshelves.

Tin Roof Installed - 8/8/2014

Tin roof was installed at the beginning of August.  Can't wait to listen the rain fall on it!

Carrara marble laid down in 5th floor bathroom.  It's lovely.

5th floor bathroom shower.  We went with a more "modern" layout for the bathroom tile, as opposed to the traditional "brick work" layout.  Really like how it turned out.

Half a load of the marble tile we had to load, sort and transport to the job site.  It took 3-4 trips to get the tile to the job site.  p.s. Marble is HEAVY!

Elizabeth took a break from her beach vacation to help sweep the jobsite so the wood floors could be delivered.  I love my sister!
