Roof Decking - 4/13/2014

Roof decking was almost completed on Sunday, waterproofing wrap was to be placed Sunday afternoon and Monday. 

Back porch still hasn't been built out all the way.

View into living area/kitchen, as you ascend the stairs.  There will eventually be a low wall there, but for now, you can see into the living room.

Little box opening is where the flood vents go.  This allows water to flow through the bottom level of the house in the event of a big flood or the nasty "H" word (HURRICANE)!

Roof Trusses & Porch Columns - 3/30/2014

The roof is really starting to take shape!  The front porch columns were also installed.

Main living area, looking into kitchen.  Ceilings will be vaulted approximately 16'8" at their highest point.  Walls are 10 feet high.

ROOF TRUSSES BEING INSTALLED!!! 3/24/2014

Jonathan sent me the following pictures this morning.  There is a big, awesome crane out on the job site and the guys are installing the roof trusses!  The house will really take shape now!

They have also started installing the porch columns on the front of the house.

Looks like they started framing the rest of the back porch, as well.  Part of the back porch will be built around that tree.

Jonathan is standing where the porch will be on the back of the house.  Dizzy is standing where the doors will be.

Santos' and crew - they LOVE Peepers and she LOVES them because they feed her tacos on their lunch break.  The guy on the far right always tells me, "Es mio" [translation: she's mine].  I quickly tell him, "No, es MIO!"  Santos is the one in the middle, back row with ball cap.  He's the man.
